Earlier this month, we saw Napoli failing to sign Orel Mangala from Nottingham Forest.
It was said by the Italian media that the Serie A side couldn’t meet the Reds’ requests, and ended up going for other targets instead.
Now according to L’Equipe, Lyon are also interested in the midfielder.
It’s said the French side are on a quest to sign someone for that position, and after exploring other possibilities, they’re ‘working’ to get Mangala.
L’Equipe points out how ‘versatile’ the Nottingham Forest player is, stating he can play as a 6 or an 8, and saying he’d be helpful to reinforce Lyon at this point of the season.
The report, however, doesn’t give any details on whether the French club would try to sign Mangala on loan or a permanent deal.
It’s worth recalling that when reporting Napoli’s chase, the Italian media claimed that the Tricky Trees were demanding €30m for the sale. That may continue to be a problem for the interested clubs, unless Lyon bring very good arguments to the table.
