As many clubs, including Fulham and West Ham United, have recently been linked to Vitória Guimarães’ Jota Silva, it seems the Portuguese side are trying to make the most of it all.
An initial story from A Bola first reported that the club are in talks with his former side Casa Pia to have a bigger percentage of the sale.
Vitória Guimarães are only getting 70% of the transfer, and their idea is to buy the other 30% before Silva is involved in a move this summer.
Newspaper Record recalls that Casa Pia gave up 70% of the player’s future rights for €290k when they first sold him. Now they’re pushing hard to get much more than that for the remaining percentage.
The outlet points out that Vitória Guimarães are expected to sell Silva for between €15m and €20m. This time, they mention West Ham United, but not Fulham.
West Ham were probably the club with the strongest links, with A Bola claiming the interest from the Hammers ‘is real’.
The Whites’ interest in the player was revealed last week, when it was claimed that they’ve been ‘studying the possibility’ of placing a bid for the player.
