Pascal Gross has a year left on his contract at Brighton & Hove Albion and his long-term future still needs to be resolved.
On June 2nd, Bild stated the 32-year-old is aware of Eintracht Frankfurt’s interest, and he would make a final decision on his future after the Euros. Four days later, the same outlet suggested he could leave Brighton due to their lack of European football.
Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to back up the Bundesliga side’s interest in Gross.
He claims Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche is ‘working intensively’ to sign the Brighton player in the summer window. The German club intend to offer a three-year deal, but they haven’t secured a verbal agreement with Gross yet.
According to Plettenberg, Brighton are in the process of appointing FC St. Pauli manager Fabian Hürzeler as Roberto De Zerbi’s successor.
Hürzeler sees the Germany international as a key player and he wants to keep him at The Amex at all costs. Therefore, Eintracht Frankfurt have to fight with Brighton to acquire Gross’ signature.
The journalist concludes that there won’t be a ‘quick decision’ on Gross’ future.
