Galatasaray are ‘working hard’ to close a deal with Arsenal for defender Cedric Soares before the end of the transfer window.
That’s according to journalist Rudy Galetti, who says the Portuguese right-back is the ‘main priority’ for the Turkish side as they look to replace Sacha Boey.
The Frenchman joined Bayern Munich earlier this month, leaving Galatasaray with a hole at right-back that will need to be closed before their transfer window ends on February 9th.
That is something Galatasaray are ‘working hard’ on, with a two-and-a-half-year deal already on the table and ready to be signed if an agreement can be reached.
Talks are ongoing on that front, with Galetti failing to explain what price Galatasaray may be offering or what Arsenal would be looking for to sanction Soares’ departure.
Given Soares is out of contract in June the fee would presumably be a minimal one, especially given he is free to negotiate with clubs under the Bosman ruling for a free transfer in the summer anyway.
With plenty of time left in the Turkish window there’s room for manoeuvre anyway but it seems Galatasaray want the deal wrapped up for the Arsenal man and are working towards that end.
