Torino are ‘at work’ trying to convince West Ham United to lower their demands for Nikola Vlasic so they can sign him on a permanent basis.
That’s according to Torino Granata, who make it clear that the Italian side have no intention of paying the figure they have already agreed upon.
Vlasic joined Torino on loan from West Ham in the summer, having struggled in his first year at the London Stadium and found himself pushed down the pecking order this year by the big-money arrival of Lucas Paqueta.
He’s found a regular starting place in Serie A and has been shining since day one, with a series of impressive performances establishing himself as the key player in Ivan Juric’s side.
They are very keen to sign him on a permanent basis, perhaps as early as January, with the loan deal including a €15m option for them to do so.
It’s been made clear that is a figure Torino do not want to pay, having only spent such a figure three times before during Urbano Cairo’s 17 years in charge of the club.
Torino Granata continue that today, stating that the Italian club are ‘trying to convince’ West Ham to lower their demands so that they can buy Vlasic permanently.
There is no mention of the figure they are looking to push West Ham to, just that they have no desire to pay the figure the two clubs already agreed.
That’s a common thing for Italian teams, who will often look to avoid paying anything they can regardless of the fact it is written in a signed agreement.
That often leads to very frustrated and drawn-out negotiations when a Premier League side in involved, so expect some of that in the coming months.
