Following the reports from Germany claiming Bayern Munich had submitted an offer to sign Kieran Trippier from Newcastle United, we now get to see big updates coming from Bild.
The outlet claims that after the Bundesliga side suffered a setback with the Magpies turning down their offer, the negotiations are ‘now continuing’.
It’s said Bayern chiefs were very optimistic about a deal, and are now unsure whether the operation with Newcastle will be completed.
The report claims that even though Trippier could be of big help on both wings, the Bundesliga giants won’t do anything ‘economically unreasonable’ to get him signed.
The German media is still to reveal how much Bayern put on the table to get the player signed, while previous claims had said Newcastle were demanding €15m.
Bayern’s first option had always been Paris Saint Germain’s Nordi Mukiele, and that may be the main reason why they won’t spend that much in Trippier, who was their second option.
It now remains to be seen how far will they go to get either of their targets before the end of the month.
