Bayern Munich are ‘willing to pay’ West Ham’s €100m valuation of Declan Rice and Uli Hoeness ‘has opened the door’ to the transfer happening.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenburg, who says a move for the Englishman is now very much a possibility for the German giants.
He explains that Bayern are aware that the ‘overall financial package’ for Rice is €100m at this point, although that is just the transfer fee to West Ham and does not include other factors, such as wages and agent fee.
The Hammers are in a good position as, despite it being reported that Rice’s contract expires in 2024 and thus they may have to sell, the reality is that West Ham have an option to extend it by another year to 2025.
That means they can demand what they want for their star man, but Bayern are prepared to pay it, with Hoeness’ having ‘opened the door’ for a €100m transfer deal.
He ‘is willing’ for Bayern to pay that figure and get their man, setting up an interesting few weeks as Rice looks destined to leave the London Stadium.
❗️News #Rice: Bayern knows that the overall financial package is around €100m at this stage – only transfer fee!
His contract is NOT running out 2024. It’s valid until 2025 because West Ham has an option for one more year.
