Udinese will want ‘at least €10m’ for defender Rodrigo Becao, whose price has dropped considerably since Everton were quoted €20m back in December.
Becao has been long linked with a move to Everton, with their interest in the defender first being reported in July last year.
They were linked pretty much every month since, with the latest midway through December stating that they were ‘insisting’ on the player and would have to pay €20m to get him.
That didn’t happen as Everton were the only club in the January transfer window not to make a signing that month.
Their interest in Becao is a long-standing one, though, and Corriere dello Sport report today that they can now get him for half of the price they were quoted over a month ago.
They explain that Inter Milan are also looking at the defender and see him as an ‘opportunity’ for many reasons, but largely because of his contract being set to expire in 2024.
That means this summer is Udinese’s last potential option to get a fee for him if he does not sign a new deal. All indications are that he won’t given that has been in the pipeline for some time and not yet happened.
Thus they ‘would like to monetise’ a sale and would want ‘at least €10m’ if they were to sell the player in the coming months.
That’s half of what was being quoted before the January transfer window and certainly a price Everton, whose finances are limited, would be able to afford.
