Rachid Ghezzal is on loan at Beşiktaş from Leicester City and he has regained his best form in Turkey this season, scoring seven goals and registering 17 assists in 30 league matches.

The Black Eagles are interested in buying the forward in the next transfer window and this has been stressed repeatedly in the Turkish media.

T24 now provides a fresh update on Beşiktaş’ efforts to sign the Algeria international in the summer.

It’s claimed the 29-year-old is the ‘first target’ the Süper Lig have planned to sign as soon as the current season gets over.

Beşiktaş manager Sergen Yalçın has urged the club’s management that the Leicester loanee is to be ‘kept in the squad’ next season and that’s only possible if a new deal can be agreed with Brendan Rodgers’ side.

In order to fulfil their coach’s wish, the club’s board are ready to ‘take concrete steps’ to sign the former AS Monaco man, who has a year left on his contract at the King Power Stadium.

The report further adds Beşiktaş ‘will soon make an official offer’ to Leicester, and their first bid will be around €3-4m.

T24, however, do not make it clear whether or not the English club are ready to accept an offer as low as that.

We’ll have to wait and see.
