Sevilla will seek negotiations with Leicester City in the summer over a permanent deal for Boubakary Soumaré as they are ‘delighted’ with the player’s performances this season.
That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, who say the Spanish side intend to try and get him permanently despite not having funds to do so.
They explain that director of football Victor Orta faces a tough summer window as he needs to reduce the club’s salary bill once again, albeit this time without the added bonus of income from European competitions.
He needs to reduce the costs by at least €60m and then make ‘low-cost acquisitions’ to help bolster the squad.
Soumaré could be one such addition, with him currently on loan from Leicester in a deal that includes a €15m purchase clause.
The Spanish side are ‘delighted’ with the midfielder’s performances this season and consider him an ‘increasing value’ and someone who should be signed.
The problem is that they cannot afford the €15m purchase clause so will have to renegotiate the conditions of the deal with Leicester.
The solution would be buying him at a lower price or securing a new loan deal, although would be difficult for the Foxes to accept as they know there is a market for the player.
One ‘advantage’ for Sevilla could be the player’s willingness to stay, though, having pushed for the move in the summer and helped Sevilla on that front.
If he does that again, the Spanish side may be able to get the deal they want.
