With Fluminense seeming to be on the verge of completing Marquinhos’ arrival from Arsenal, we now get to see some more details on this deal.
Globo Esporte now features a report saying there’s an agreement between the parties, who are just waiting for the end of the pre-Olympic tournament to complete the transfer.
It’s said Fluminense will sign Marquinhos on a loan with an ‘option to buy’. They’ll also pay Arsenal for the loan spell, although none of the numbers are revealed for now.
As soon as the pre-Olympic ends, the winger is expected to go to Europe to sort ‘bureaucratic matters’ and then go to Brazil to sign for the Rio de Janeiro club.
Arsenal spent €3.5m to sign Marquinhos from São Paulo in 2022. Despite a few chances to play in his first months at the club, he was loaned to Norwich City and then to Nantes.
He’s leaving the Gunners with six appearances made for them, and this time, that could be a permanent goodbye, at least in case he manages to impress in Brazil.
