On Tuesday we covered an explanation from Canarias7 that Middlesbrough are much better placed than Las Palmas to fund a Jese Rodriguez loan.

Las Palmas would struggle to get near the €2.8m Jese is contracted to be paid between now and the end of June, but Middlesbrough would not.

What is on Las Palmas’ side, explained Canarias7, is Jese’s preference to a return to the island which he left in 2007 to sign for Real Madrid.

Marca go over the situation on Wednesday and they reiterate that Jese’s priority is Las Palmas, and he’s getting involved in talks to try and make it happen. There’s been meetings with PSG, but the French club know they’re likely to get more money (loan fee, contribution to wages, maybe even a transfer fee) from a Premier League club.

Aitor Karanka’s Middlesbrough are once again mentioned as interested, as are Liverpool, but Jese has other ideas.

The Spanish newspaper say of Las Palmas ‘The club will not do crazy things’ to finance a Jese move, which would be the one thing providing a little hope for Middlesbrough.

Last season Jese racked up around 1200 minutes with Real Madrid across La Liga and the Champions League, he scored 6 goals and made 6 assists.

In July AS reported that Real Madrid weren’t too content with Jese launching a music career. He released a remix of a song called Yo sabía (I know), and AS stated the player was determined to ‘fight for his dream of being a star of reggaeton’.

It was the accompanying video which seems to have rocked the boat, with Marca worrying about it being ‘sexually charged’ and flaunting a luxury lifestyle.

Less than a month afterwards, Jese was sold to PSG, and there were concerns right from the presentation that something wasn’t right. Arriving from Real Madrid, Jese looked a little too bling, and quickly the pressure started to build.

After less than 300 minutes in Ligue 1, Jese has a solitary goal to his name, and the club aren’t exactly against a very quick exit.

Middlesbrough links keep popping up but it’s unclear how genuine it is or whether the whole thing is based upon on Aitor Karanka being Spanish and having links to Real Madrid, and the same counting for Jese.

If the interest is genuine, then perhaps Karanka needs to convince Jese there’s a great reggaeton scene in Middlesbrough.
