On Wednesday, Akşam reported Trabzonspor have ‘pressed the button’ to sign Liverpool’s Thiago Alcântara.
The Süper Lig side are hoping to land the 32-year-old before the Turkish transfer window closes on Friday.
That’s according to Fanatik, who have provided updates on Trabzonspor’s plan to try and secure the Liverpool player’s services.
A few days ago, Trabzonspor added the midfielder to their target and the report says they will make a ‘final move’ to sign him.
The Turkish club see the former Barcelona man as a market opportunity while also being aware that it’ll difficult to get the deal over the line.
On Thursday, Trabzonspor will make efforts to ‘persuade’ the Spaniard to join them, and the website further adds they are trying to take him on a free transfer.
Thiago has a year left on his deal at Liverpool and Fanatik don’t make it clear whether Trabzonspor are trying to take him on a free loan deal or a permanent transfer [this will only be possible if his contract at Anfield is terminated].
Since April, the midfielder has been sidelined with a hip injury, and he’s expected to return to action at the end of this month.
