West Ham United could be given their best chance yet to sign Sevilla striker Youssef En Nesyri this summer, with the Spanish club happy to take a lower offer than before.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the Hammers could get their man for less than the €30m they offered last summer.

West Ham have long been interested in En Nesyri, with David Moyes keen to add another striker to his squad for some time.

They tried with a big bid for him in January of last year, but that was rejected by Sevilla and the player, who both decided to complete the season.

There was a second effort in the summer, but that was again rebuffed, with Sevilla demanding more than West Ham were willing to pay and En Nesyri again deciding to stay where he was.

That ended up being something of a poor choice, with the striker enduring a ‘very poor’ campaign that included injuries, COVID and only a handful of goals.

That negativity has somewhat been washed away by a couple of goals on international duty, but it has not changed Sevilla’s thinking.

They will now ‘listen to offers’ for the player, and that should come as interesting news to West Ham, who offered €30m last summer but saw it rejected.

Sevilla are now aware the player has been devalued and would listen to figures below that price as they look to balance the books with sales and then bolster the squad.

Now there is no suggestion they are pushing to get rid or anything of that nature, just that they are now more open to selling than they once were and, crucially, for less than they previously wanted also.

Given West Ham’s extensive efforts to sign the striker on more than one occasion, it would make sense for them to explore the idea for a third time this summer, with the likelihood of a deal happening greater than it’s ever been.
