While the story taking Moussa Dembélé to Lazio might have gone a bit more quiet over the past few days, it hasn’t died completely just yet.
It’s still twitching around on the floor thanks to recent interest in Felipe Caicedo from Rayo Vallecano, and his exit could force the Italian side to return to the fray for the Celtic star, according to Il Messaggero.
A favourite of Brendan Rodgers’, the 21-year-old isn’t exactly on the list of players the manager will want to see leave, and it would take a strong offer from Lazio to convince the Celtic Park club to part ways with him.
That’s why he isn’t their only target, as Club Brugge’s Wesley remains the top option, even if the Brazilian has already stated he’d like to stay in Belgium for the season and play the Champions League with his club.
So Celtic fans might want to keep an eye out for what goes on with Felipe Caicedo, as it could kickstart a frantic last few days of the Serie A transfer window (it shuts on August 18th) that could involve Celtic’s Moussa Dembélé.
If you can’t be bothered, we’ll do it for you anyways.
