Standard Liege will do ‘everything’ they can to secure a deal for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Steven Alzate before Belgium’s transfer deadline this evening.
That’s according to Het Nieuwsblad, who follow up reports from earlier today that Standard were pushing to get a late deal over the line.
Earlier today we covered a report from journalist Sacha Tavolieri that stated Standard had made a late approach to sign Alzate from Brighton once again.
The journalist claimed that after spending last season on loan with the Belgian club, they are keen on a similar deal for him this season and they were working to find a satisfactory solution for all parties.
Alzate had reportedly already made it clear he was more than happy to make the move again and added that he was due to fly to Belgium at some point today. His entourage were confident of a positive outcome but there was a race against time to get it done before the deadline today.
Het Nieuwsblad follow that up and state Liege will do ‘everything they can’ on the last day of the window to sign Alzate on loan from Brighton once again.
They need a central midfielder and would like him back and are now working flat out to get it done and secure a late deadline day swoop.
