On Tuesday, we covered a report from Bild, which reiterated that Newcastle United were one of the clubs interested in Can Uzun.
The young striker currently plays for 1. FC Nürnberg in the 2.Bundesliga, and has quickly become an important player for them despite being only 18 years of age.
It was added that Inter Milan were also keen on the forward, providing competition for Newcastle, and Florian Plettenberg brings his information to the table on Wednesday.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the journalist explains that there is ‘no release clause’ in Uzun’s contract with the German club.
This means Nürnberg can set whatever price they want for their young star, and are expected to ‘demand more than €10m’.
Bild said the youngster was currently valued at €8m, meaning the 2.Bundesliga side are clearly hoping for some sort of bidding war for Uzun in the summer and want to take advantage of all this interest.
Newcastle and Inter are said to have ‘entered the race’ and ‘enquired’ about the 18-year-old, while the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt are also in the mix.
As for the statistics that have caught the eye of all these clubs, Plettenberg brings them to the table, pointing out Uzun has 13 goals and three assists in 20 matches.
