Bayern Munich will wait until after the weekend to finalise a move for Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier, despite opening talks over a deal for him.
That’s according to BILD, who provide the latest update on the move after reports emerged yesterday that Bayern were pushing forward with their interest.
The newspaper backs up claims yesterday that Trippier is ‘on the radar’ for the German champions and they are hoping for a ‘quick agreement’.
However, according to their information they will wait, if possible, for a decision on the Newcastle man until after the weekend.
That’s because they’re continuing to focus on PSG’s Nordi Mukiele, but the two sides differ on how that deal would happen. Bayern want a loan with an option, but PSG want a loan with an obligation to buy.
Thus, talks are dragging on and now they’re looking at Trippier, who has been made available by Newcastle as they look to adjust their expenditure and income balance in order to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.
Thus, they’re willing to sanction Trippier, who is a big earner, leaving this month and talks are underway to make it happen. Indeed, reports elsewhere indicate that they’ve already convince Trippier, and he’s given his verbal agreement to the move to Munich.
All that remains is to work it out with Newcastle, something Bayern want to do, although not until after the weekend if they can manage it.
