Ander Herrera still hasn’t been announced as a PSG player.

Technically, his contract at Manchester United doesn’t expire until the end of June, but that wouldn’t stop a new club confirming his signing.

Plenty of free transfers have already been signed, sealed and announced around European football, some of them months ago.

Given it’s been so quiet on the Herrera front, there’s even been suggestions the move to PSG may not be quite as wrapped up as had been claimed, and Atletico Madrid were recently thrown in as another option.

Now L’Equipe report he’ll be presented next week, and there’s a reason for the delay.

The French club’s sponsorship deal with Emirates expires on Sunday night, and next week the club will be sponsored by Accor’s hotel loyalty scheme.

Therefore, they want to wait to present new signings.

That will be the case with the arrival from Manchester United, as well as Sevilla’s Pablo Sarabria, who is also expected to arrive.
