If you thought that Paris Saint-Germain had given up their efforts to sign Leeds United’s Diego Llorente, currently on loan at AS Roma, that is not the case.
At least, that’s what Foot Mercato are reporting on Friday, claiming that despite their attempts and desire to sign Leny Yoro from Lille, they might have to settle for a less expensive avenue.
That could be the Spaniard, still contracted to Leeds, who emerged as a surprise target for the Ligue 1 side earlier this January, admittedly with the help of Luis Enrique, who knows him well from their time together with the Spain national team.
Paris Saint-Germain are still very interested in Yoro, to the extent that other avenues have been put on ‘standby’.
The Leeds defender is one of those, but that is still ‘well and truly being worked on’ alongside the attempts for the 17-year-old by ‘collaborators’ of Luis Campos.
Therefore, they haven’t given up on Llorente, who still remains at Roma to this day, having recently seen José Mourinho sacked and quickly replaced by Daniele De Rossi.
A lot could depend on what the Italian’s plans are for his defence once everyone is fit, because a reluctance to use the Leeds loanee could perhaps facilitate a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
