Leeds United’s interest in Liam Millar is being more than welcomed by FC Basel, who are more than open to a sale.
That’s according to Nau, who cover the player today and how Basel are eyeing up a ‘rain of millions’ from a potential exit this summer.
They explain that there are plenty of suitors for Millar, who spent this season on loan at Preston North End and earned himself admirers while there.
His tally of five goals and six assists has not gone unnoticed and reports in England have named Leeds, Burnley and Sheffield United as suitors.
The interested parties are lining up and Basel are happy to see this, believing they can get a fee ‘well above’ the player’s current €2.5m market valuation.
That would allow them to make a profit on the player, who they signed for €1.5m from Liverpool last year and who will be due a fifth of any transfer profit made as well.
Hence Basel will look for as big a fee as possible and are welcoming the interest from Leeds, and others, in the hope of getting it this summer.
