Earlier this month, Beşiktaş sporting director Ceyhun Kazancı admitted his side are trying to sign Brentford’s Halil Dervişoğlu for free while the Bees are demanding €2m to sanction his sale.
Four days ago, Turkish journalist Gökmen Özcan reported the striker was in Istanbul to seal a move and Thomas Frank’s side will receive 25% from any future sale.
The Brentford player’s transfer hasn’t been completed yet and Fanatik explain the reason.
In need to bolster their strike force for next season, the Black Eagles are keen to sign the Turkey international. He has already met Beşiktaş manager Şenol Güneş and their other leaders.
It’s claimed the 23-year-old reacted positively to the offer made by Beşiktaş and sent his agent to Istanbul, likely to sort out the details of the contract.
According to Fanatik, the Istanbul club have offered the Brentford attacker a deal worth €750,000 per year which is €250,000 short of his demands.
Dervişoğlu’s agent wanted €1m per year but the report states Beşiktaş have ‘reiterated’ that the transfer ‘could be cancelled’ if their proposal isn’t accepted.
Beşiktaş are ready to walk away and already identified US Cremonese’s David Okereke as an alternative to Dervişoğlu.
