A report from Spanish newspaper Marca on Tuesday serves to further underline the idea that Barcelona are warming to the idea of a Claudio Bravo sale.
Manchester City have been heavily linked with the goalkeeper in recent days, something which has been building since Joe Hart’s performance against Iceland.
When Hart isn’t mentally disintegrating, it could easily be argued he is at least the equal of Bravo, but Pep Guardiola is said to want another type of player. Not so English.
Marca point out that so concerned was Marc Andre ter Stegen this summer, that Barcelona sat down with the German and assured him about his future. He doesn’t want to simply be a cup goalkeeper, and the Spanish media say he’s very much the man Barcelona rely on long term.
Therefore, getting €20m for Bravo could be a good solution. The goalkeeper’s family are said to be happy with their Mediteranean lifestyle, but Marca say that could change if Barcelona made him aware he’d be second fiddle to Ter Stegen.
Then the Costa del Eastlands could become more attractive.
