Club ‘wants to go strong’ on Bournemouth player, preparing offer to avoid bidding war

After having signed Nathan Ake on loan from Chelsea in 2016, AFC Bournemouth landed the defender on a permanent transfer a year later.

The Netherlands international has been a regular inclusion in Eddie Howe’s starting XI since the start of last season.

According to CalcioNapoli24, the 24-year-old’s displays have drawn attention from Napoli and they have identified the centre-back as a replacement for Raul Albiol.

The Serie A club’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is looking for a young, strong central defender who can replace Albiol and form a partnership alongside Kalidou Koulibaly.

Ake is the Italian club’s target in the summer.

Napoli Magazine journalist Emanuele Cammaroto claims Carlo Ancelotti’s side were after the player in 2018. The interest has been rekindled and last Thursday, Napoli contacted Ake’s entourage in Salzburg.

This time around, they ‘want to go strong’ on the former Blues man so that their efforts in signing the Dutchman are successful.

Bournemouth are demanding €30m for Ake, according to the claims, and Napoli are preparing the offer in order to avoid a bidding war for Ake at the end of the season.
