Cristian Romero

Inter Milan want to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero permanently this summer.

Tottenham have offered the centre-back to the Serie A winners while holding talks for Djed Spence, after accepting his future is away from the Premier League side. He is also open to joining the Italian club.

Three days ago, we relayed news Roberto De Zerbi highly appreciated the Tottenham star, but he’s most likely to leave.

The Premier League side are requesting €50m and the Nerazzurri are aiming for a loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Inter confident of signing Tottenham player

FcInterNews now picks up on that and rules out a loan move with a purchase obligation.

Cristian Chivu’s side want to sign the Argentina international permanently and are now confident of securing his services.

This is probably because of Cristian Romero’s agent Ciro Palermo trip to Milan on Friday.

Earlier that day, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that Spurs, who initially asked for €50m, have lowered their demand.

Want Spurs star soon

FcInterNews backs it up and claims the north London club are not asking for €50m.

Inter Milan are looking to buy the former Atalanta man for €40m, and Tottenham Hotspur seem open to accepting this. They are ruling out a loan move with a purchase obligation and there are ‘no creative solutions’ to sign Cristian Romero.

Instead, the Italian champions want his signature via a permanent transfer with deferred payment.

There is confidence in a positive outcome for this formula, and whether that’s misplaced remains to be seen.

Either way, Inter Milan want the outcome ‘within 10 days’. If it’s negative, meaning Spurs don’t agree to the deferred payment, the San Siro club want to move on to other targets.
