Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are chasing AFC Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen, according to AS.

The defender is on the front page of today’s AS, with ‘operation Huijsen’ written in bold. There’s also a mention of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United’s interest in the 19-year-old.

His performances for Bournemouth have seen the Premier League trio, Real Madrid and others take notice. Huijsen is a fan of Los Blancos, and this gives them an advantage over others.

The centre-back was eligible to represent the Netherlands but decide to play for Spain and made his debut for La Roja last week. AS state he took this decision to fulfil his dream of playing for the La Liga giants.

A source close to Real Madrid told AS: “We already knew he was very good, but now we also know he has the personality to play for Real Madrid.”

The Spanish giants are looking for a young player with potential for growth, preferably with international experience. The Bournemouth star meets their requirements, but it will not be easy for Real Madrid to snatch him from the Cherries.

AS state the Champions League winners will face competition from Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United as they are also ‘looking at him’.

Real Madrid were initially planning to take Huijsen in 2026 but will try to sign him in the next window due to the competition from the Premier League trio. They hope the defender will help by making his desire to join them public.

The Bournemouth player has a €50m release clause for the summer window.
