Napoli are not keeping Tanguy Ndombele at the club following his loan from Tottenham Hotspur, but the Serie A side may move for another Spurs player.
That’s Giovanni Lo Celso, who, according to Calcio Mercato, is a long-time target for the Italian club.
The outlet features a story pointing out Napoli should lose Piotr Zielinski this summer, and ‘could think’ of replacing him with the Tottenham player.
The club’s idea plan to land Lo Celso would be to use a similar formula to the one which got them Ndombele. That means a loan, where the clubs would split his salary, with an option to buy.
Tottenham, however, seem more interested in working for a permanent sale, especially because they don’t count on the Argentine any longer, as he had spent the past 18 months on loan at Villarreal.
Calcio Mercato don’t say how much Spurs would demand for Lo Celso’s permanent departure. The midfielder’s contract with the club runs until 2025, and he’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €14m. The story highlights the ‘good relations’ between the clubs because of their previous negotiations.
