Lazio has emerged as the likeliest destination for Mason Greenwood over the past couple of weeks or so.
After people seemingly connected to the player’s camp linked him with most top clubs in Europe, those clubs made clear their supposed interest didn’t exist and then it was Lazio who came forward.
Manchester United are looking for a permanent transfer this summer, intending to part ways with the attacker. Getafe weren’t able to drag together the money required and Serie A quickly became an option.
Calciomercato report Claudio Lotito, Lazio’s president, has instructed his staff to work to close a deal for Greenwood.
They made an initial verbal offer worth €20m, but Manchester United didn’t believe that was a sufficient amount. According to the report, they’re looking for at least €10m more.
Lazio are said to want the transfer done and dusted by July 8th, so Greenwood can be ready for the club’s start to preseason. As far as Calciomercato are concerned, Lotito is confident that can happen.
