It appears that the idea that Casemiro could be leaving Manchester United in the near future isn’t going away anytime soon.
Already linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, the story continues to appear here and there, with Foot Mercato the latest to bring it to the fore.
It comes as part of an article on Seko Fofana, as many clubs want to sign the Ivory Coast international from Al-Nassr, who has surprisingly been told he can leave the club in January.
This, in turn, would free up a space for another foreign player, and while there is a belief that they could use it for David Opsina, who would return from injury, other sources have told Foot Mercato that the Saudi club ‘want to sign Casemiro at the request of Cristiano Ronaldo’.
Not only that, but the Brazilian midfielder, who has played very little for Manchester United due to injury and poor form, ‘is interested’ by the challenge.
Following comments from Jim Ratcliffe on Casemiro in the past, it’s fair to say the midfielder probably isn’t the most welcome at the club with the INEOS supervision expected to start after the transfer window, so selling him now could be ideal if the opportunity arises.
The 31-year-old has only made 12 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United this season, but has managed to score four goals and pick up an assist over those 951 minutes of football.
