Juventus are working to make youngster Kenan Yildiz ‘untouchable’ and keep him out of the hands of Arsenal and other suitors.
That’s according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, who say the Italian giants are keen to make a stand and ensure their top talent doesn’t depart this summer.
They explain that it’s been a rapid rise for Yildiz, who was an unknown at the club and in Serie A last season but is now the owner of the best-selling shirt in the division.
He’s very much the rising star of the future and a firm fan favourite, with many hoping he can lead the Italians for years to come.
He’s been backed for a bright future and his performances this season have not gone unnoticed, with a growing list of admirers that includes Arsenal as well as Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Liverpool.
Juventus absolutely do not want to sell, though, and want to make it clear to those lining up to try and take him that he is ‘untouchable’.
They’ve planned a new contract for the player that will see him extend his deal to 2029 and earn a pay rise on his current €350,000 per year deal, which they intend to be a signal to the youngster and to any of the clubs hovering around trying to sign him.
They could even offer him a change of shirt and the chance to take up the number ten that belonged to Alessandro Del Piero, and is currently owned by Paul Pogba, as another sign of how much they believe in him.
It’s all a show of faith, and a signal to the likes of Arsenal that they have no intention of negotiating any kind of deal.
