Last week, reports from Brazil claimed Fulham scheduled a meeting with the agent of São Paulo midfielder Pablo Maia.
It was said the Whites wanted the agent to go to London, as they would discuss the possibility of a summer move.
Today, it’s journalist André Hernan who features a story on Fulham’s pursuit, and he claims things are actually not moving so fast.
Following recent gossip of a potential offer from the Whites, the reporter claims to have spoken to people at São Paulo who guarantee that there have been no bids yet.
It’s recalled that back in January, Fulham promised they’d arrive with an attempt in the summer, but that hasn’t happened so far.
Hernan also learned that São Paulo have no intention of negotiating Maia in this transfer window, and the only way to do that would be for an offer they can’t refuse. In the club’s point of view, that would be of €20m or more.
So if Fulham are actually preparing that bid, they better know the player won’t be cheap as in January.
