Club want all the money now – Steps being taken to get total payment over move to Nottingham Forest

Murillo’s transfer from Corinthians to Nottingham Forest is a reason for a couple of stories in the Brazilian media this week.

That’s because the Timão are reportedly looking to forward the money from the Reds for that transfer, which took place last summer.

According to Globo Esporte, Corinthians are in touch with an investment fund to get the full amount from a couple of sales, and Murilo’s is included.

Nottingham Forest signed the defender for €13m, with a potential further €3m in bonuses, and have not yet paid it all, since the agreement was it would be split into several instalments.

Corinthians had done the same with Gabriel Moscardo’s sale to PSG, so they believe it shouldn’t be a problem for them to do the same with the City Ground side.

This subject isn’t exactly new, as last year, the Brazilian press had already reported the club’s wish to anticipate the money from Nottingham Forest.

At that time, it had been claimed that the Reds would still need to pay instalments in March and December 2024. So this new action may just be for the final payment.
