AS Roma have Diego Llorente on loan from Leeds United for now, but they’re already planning to sell him in the summer.
That’s today explained by TuttoMercatoWeb, who claim the Serie A side know exactly what to do with the 30-year-old in the coming months.
The outlet writes that Roma want to buy Llorente ‘as soon as possible’ by paying Leeds United €5m for his permanent transfer.
The reason is that they’re in need of money, and the defender can soon become an ‘asset’ for them to balance their finances.
It’s claimed that following the player’s positive start at Roma, ‘many suitors’ contacted Leeds United in January, and they should actually negotiate with Roma once that purchase is done.
According to La Repubblica, Paris Saint Germain are one of the interested sides, as they already tried the move in the January transfer window and saw it blocked.
The Italian side’s need is to make around €50m by July, and even though that obviously won’t all come from Llorente’s sale, they’ll undoubtedly try to make as much as possible with him.
It isn’t said what he thinks of this whole operation, though.
