Turkish outlet NTV Spor today features an interesting update on Besiktas’ chase for Southampton defender Lyanco.
As previously reported, the Istanbul side had first placed an official €4m bid for the signing.
The report claims that offer was turned down by Southampton, who actually demand €8m for the Brazilian’s transfer.
Besiktas are then making a second attempt for Lyanco. This time, they want him on a loan deal and an option to buy.
NTV Spor doesn’t make it clear how much the Turkish side would need to pay for that clause. Plus there isn’t a response from Southampton about this new attempt yet.
What is interesting is that Lyanco had also been linked a move to Brazilian side Vasco da Gama, and according to reports from the local media, the Saints didn’t want to loan the player as they were only interested in a permanent sale.
Now that may be a negative factor for Besiktas as well, unless the Turkish club can manage to make that option obligatory in case conditions are met.
So let’s wait and see how this situation develops.
