Portuguese newspaper A Bola has a story today saying Tiago Ilori’s transfer has become a ‘daily subject’ at Sporting.

That’s good to hear, as we’ve been covering these updates from the local press every day and it doesn’t seem like things have been moving much.

This Wednesday, A Bola claims that the transfer now depends on the new signings that Reading can do before the end of the January transfer window.

That’s the only way the Royals will let the player go, since manager José Gomes doesn’t believe there’s a good replacement for him in the current squad.

A Bola says that Sporting have bid €1.5m for Ilori, and Reading continue to demand €3m.

The Lions don’t want to pay that much, and would now raise their bid to €2m. They won’t even waste their time doing it before Reading finally get their signings.

It’s claimed they will wait until the end of the week.
