Tottenham defender Eric Dier is still on the list of possible targets at Bayern Munich, who already have a ‘verbal agreement’ in place over a potential deal.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who says the German giants have not dropped the defender’s name after looking at him in the summer.
Dier has long been linked with a move away from Tottenham after featuring less under Ange Postecoglou since his arrival in the summer.
The defender’s contract expires in the summer, so this month is the final chance for Tottenham to sell for any figure before he potentially leaves on a free transfer.
Bayern looked at him in the summer as manager Thomas Tuchel looked for defensive options and Plettenberg reports that ‘he’s still on the list’ at the club.
In fact, he states that there is a verbal agreement in principle about a potential move and that has progressed to ‘talks and ideas’ about a permanent move but there is no final decision as yet.
That’s because Bayern are exploring additional alternatives to the Tottenham man, but Tuchel is putting pressure on the club and wants signings as soon as possible.
That could lead to a renewed push for Dier, with contact having never been lost with the Tottenham man from the summer.
