Arsenal have made their intentions clear that they want to sign Valencia’s Skhodran Mustafi, finally.
The Gunners have taken their time to evaluate the transfer market, but it now appears they’re ready to step up their interest in the German international.
According to Super Deporte, Arsenal have placed a bid of more than €40m for Mustafi to Valencia.
Super Deporte say Arsenal’s initial bid of €18m (their original claims on that followed on from fake Twitter reports, so best ignored) was rejected by Valencia, but the Gunners are slowly coming close to his release clause of €50m.
Valencia are now considering the sale of the player, and Super Deporte believe he could leave the club in the next ‘few hours’. It’s explained the Spanish club ‘values’ the offer, which sounds quite positive.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for Mustafi after injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.
Arsene Wenger has been under a lot of criticism for his lack of signings, but it appears he is ready to respond with a big money move for the 24-year-old.
