On Sunday, when covering claims from the Portuguese press, it became pretty clear that Sporting are expecting official offers from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur for Bruno Fernandes.
There’s another club who have been mentioned by the Lisbon media in the past few days, and that’s Real Madrid. They’ve been included in the race for the midfielder as new competitors.
Now it turns out that Spanish outlet AS brings their take on the situation, and they don’t really believe the Galacticos are in for Fernandes.
They write an entire story about Manchester United’s chase for the midfielder, and then make some comments on the claims Jorge Mendes could help Real Madrid get the player.
AS claims to have had it ‘confirmed’ these reports are more of a ‘probe balloon’ coming from Sporting. The Portuguese side’s intention would be for Tottenham and Manchester United to offer the amount demanded by them.
The outlet adds that if United get Bruno Fernandes, then Paul Pogba move closer to Real Madrid. Although there are several Spanish takes making a Pogba move sound very unlikely, regardless of what happens with Bruno.
