AC Milan should make a move for West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca in the summer and allow him to enact his ‘revenge’ after a disappointing season in England.
That’s according to journalist Paolo Bargiggia, who thinks the Champions League semi-finalists should be looking to take advantage of Scamacca’s situation in the summer transfer window.
The Italian striker joined West Ham in a €36m deal from Sassuolo last summer but he has struggled to impress for David Moyes’ side, with just eight goals in 27 games in all competition and five of those coming in the Europa Conference League.
Unlike many of them, though, there is likely to be a market for Scamacca in the summer, with him still well thought of in Serie A.
That could provide West Ham with an opportunity to make some of their investment back and Bargiggia believes AC Milan in particular should be jumping at the opportunity.
“Milan must aim to buy one or two strikers for next season,” he said.
“I would advise the Rossoneri to get Scamacca. An Italian player, with a desire for revenge. I’d try to get him on loan for a year from West Ham.
“Besides, of course, the foreign names you read about like Okafor and Balogun, with the latter who I think could go to Leipzig though.”
