In 2016, Manchester City and NAC Breda announced a five year partnership which would see the two clubs work together to further each of their interests.
There would be off the pitch advice, including helping the Eredivisie club improve their infrastructure and staffing, and also the opportunity for City players to go to the Netherlands on loan.
Whilst NAC have spoken publicly about their happiness at how the partnership is helping off the pitch, it would appear the exchange of players isn’t quite going to plan.
De Telegraaf report on Friday that, in this respect, the relationship with Manchester City isn’t so smooth, and is causing a ‘headache’ for the Dutch side.
Due to the Premier League champions having relationships with other clubs, and those within the City Football Group, NAC feel they’re always having to join a queue to get loan players and they’re not getting the best ones.
De Telegraaf say that those sent this season have ‘little or no added value’.
Pierre van Hooijdonk is working as the club’s technical director and will try to change things and avoid relegation.
The Manchester City players at NAC Breda this season are Paolo Fernandes, Erik Palmer-Brown and Luka Ilić.
