Werder Bremen are considering a late move for Manchester United’s Isak Hansen-Aarøen, according to Transfermarkt journalist Benedikt Duda.
The Bundesliga side are working on securing a deal for Lyon’s Skelly Alvero before the winter market closes on Thursday.
Duda shared this update on X, formerly known as Twitter, and then mentioned the Manchester United youngster.
He claims the German club are ‘trying to get’ the 19-year-old, as they want the ‘promising player’ to play alongside Alvero in their midfield.
Manchester United signed Hansen-Aarøen from Norwegian side Tromsø in 2020 and he’s not yet made a debut for their senior team.
Erik ten Hag didn’t include the teenager in the squad for the Red Devils’ FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic earlier this month. This didn’t please the Norwegian media, who urged him to leave the Premier League side.
The Norway U21 internationals’ current deal lasts until the end of this season and Werder Bremen are ‘trying’ to sign him. Time is running out and they have just over a day to try and get this deal over the line.
Manchester United could sell Hansen-Aarøen in this window, to avoid losing him for free in the summer.
