Arsenal are yet to make a decision on Jorginho’s future, leading to a potential move to Juventus at the end of the season.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the Italian club have been trying to sign him ‘for years’ and could make their move in the summer.
They explain that despite Mikel Arteta publically stating that Jorginho should stay at Arsenal and be offered a new contract, with his current deal expiring in the summer, the reality is that no such decision has been made.
Arsenal are yet to commit to a new deal or exercise an option to extend his deal by a year, with ‘many variables still to evaluate’ on the matter.
Amid that uncertainty, Juventus are carefully observing the situation, with director of football Cristiano Giuntoli someone who is aware of what Jorginho can bring.
He ‘knows all about him’ while Juventus have been linked with a move for years and the idea is that Jorginho could be a ‘mother hen’ for the younger players and an ideal alternative to Manuel Locatelli.
The idea of offering him a short contract is being studied, although it would require a green light from Arsenal, something neither they or Mikel Arteta are thinking of giving him at the moment.
