It’s been just a couple of weeks since we started seeing reports on the race for the signing of Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick, and the number of updates on this chase is actually impressive.
Many clubs have been linked to the 15-year-old, including Manchester United, who were recently claimed to have made contact with the youngster’s representatives.
However, in an update featured by Yahoo journalist Jorge Nicola, it’s now reported that Barcelona have turned out to be the ‘most interested’ in the signing.
It’s said the Catalan side are already ‘preparing an offer’ to buy Endrick as soon as he turns 16 and signs his first professional contract with Palmeiras in July.
Barcelona want to close a deal ‘as soon as possible’ due to the competition from other European sides, and that’s where Manchester United get a mention again.
According to the story, the Camp Nou side would like to pay for the transfer in three instalments: one when he signs his professional contract, one in his first year in the first team, and then when he moves to Spain.
Despite being told about the interest, Endrick’s staff haven’t opened negotiations as they don’t consider an exit before the deal with Palmeiras is signed.
This means there should still be time for Manchester United or any other club to compete for the teenager, giving the Red Devils time to sort out an offer of their own if they are indeed keen on eventually bringing him to Old Trafford.
