Portuguese newspaper Record features a front page today where they highlight the new contract of Sporting fullback Nuno Mendes.
They say there’s now an agreement between club and player for his release clause to be increased from €45m to €70m.
And a reason why Mendes is getting his third pay raise in less than two years is the interest from other clubs such as Manchester United.
Record writes there are many European sides who’ve been following the 18-year-old, but it’s only the Red Devils who are named, and even get a mention on the front page.
Earlier this year, it had been claimed that Nuno Mendes’s transfer was on the table during the negotiations for Bruno Fernandes’ move to Old Trafford, as they share the same agent.
The rumours continued in the summer, but for now, it doesn’t seem like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have made a real move for the fullback.
