Following on from claims in the English media of Manchester United interest, Turin newspaper Tuttosport says Juventus will try their best to hang on to Grigoris Kastanos.
The 18 year old Cypriot is currently with the Juventus Primavera section, which is the club’s youth team. Primavera literally means spring, and the Juve Primavera has seen many players go on to fully bloom in the first team.
Juventus paid €60,000 to get the youngster from a Cypriot club, and Tuttosport sound very happy with the results their favoured club has had. It’s explained Kastanos is adept with either foot, and very good at providing assists.
Tuttosport go on to state: ‘Juventus will have to be careful about trying to lock down their young jewel from the Red Devils attack.’
Manchester United spotted Kastanos at the Viareggio youth tournament earlier this year. Viareggio is a coastal Tuscany town and surprisingly holds one of the world’s most famous youth football tournaments, at which Manchester United, and probably most Premier League clubs, will have someone present yearly.
The Premier League club have beefed up their scouting over the summer, which would suggest a plan to recruit more young players to bet on for the future.
Kastanos faced Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini in September, in a World Cup Qualifier between Cyprus and Belgium, with the latter winning 3-0.
