Stade Rennais are working on agreeing personal terms with Glen Kamara, before then approaching Leeds United about a deal for the midfielder.
That’s according to Ouest France, who report that the French side have made progress on a potential deal for the midfielder.
The newspaper reports that Stade Rennais have made Kamara one of their ‘priority avenues’ for this summer, having followed the midfielder for some time.
They’re determined to improve in that area of the team and see the Leeds man as an ideal fit, going as far as to contact him personally and work on personal terms.
Talks on that front have been progressing and according to Ouest France’s information, an agreement with the player ‘would be in the works’.
The club would then work on finding a deal with Leeds for the conditions of a full transfer, with the midfielder under contract at Elland Road until 2027.
This tallies with a previous report earlier this week that stated Stade Rennais had yet to contact Leeds over Kamara despite increasing reports about their interest in him.
It seems they’ve decided to take the route of convincing the player first, which it appears they are close to doing, before then using that to bolster potential negotiations with Leeds.
