Nikola Vlašić has become ‘indispensable’ for Torino coach Ivan Jurić since he joined them on loan from West Ham United in the summer.
The Serie A side can make the attacking midfielder’s stay permanent by paying €15m to the Hammers. They will also have to agree a deal with him.
Vlašić’s deal at West Ham is until 2026, worth €2.5m per year, while he had earlier agreed for €2m with the Turin club.
Croatia overcame Japan and Brazil in penalty shootouts to seal a berth in the semi-final of the World Cup. The 25-year-old converted from the spot kick against these opponents.
This, coupled with his form for the Italian club this season, could see Vlašić attract interest from other clubs. If that happens, Torino Granata explain €15m may not be enough for Jurić’s side to buy Vlašić, especially since his current market value is €20m.
The Croatian may also not agree to lower his wages from €2.5m if interested clubs can offer both him and West Ham an improved deal.
To avoid this, the outlet warns Torino to ‘hurry’ and pay €15m to David Moyes’ side to buy Vlašić. The Italian club must review their salary policy and at least ‘make an exception’ for the attacking midfielder.
Despite Torino’s desire to retain Vlašić’s, this report indicates they could risk of losing him after this season.
