According to a claim in the Turkish media, Trabzonspor are again showing interest in Sheffield United midfielder Gustavo Hamer.

The Brazilian was linked with a move to the Super Lig side following Sheffield United’s failure to secure promotion.

Taka Gazete report on Trabzonspor’s renewed interest in Hamer following their attempts to sign the Sheffield United player in the summer. The Black Sea club held talks in the final days of the window, but couldn’t convince the Blades.

However, the Trabzon club will go back in for the 28-year-old in the new year. That’s despite signing Benjamin Bouchouari in the summer. The Moroccan international arrived from Saint Etienne last month, but he’s yet to feature due to injury.

Hamer has previously been linked with a move to Turkey following reports in 2024 Galatasaray were looking to sign him. We covered reports the Istanbul giants were looking to trigger his release clause after Sheffield United were relegated to the Championship.

The Brazilian has made nine appearances in the league this season and is contracted until June 2027.
