While it feels like he’s been around for many, many years, Kingsley Coman remains only 23, and has a great future ahead of him in the world of football.
Already capped 22 times for his country, the Frenchman’s deal at Bayern Munich doesn’t expire for quite some time (2023), but the German side are currently in talks with the winger about a new contract.
That’s what Foot Mercato are reporting on Monday, explaining that talks are ongoing, regardless of whether or not Leroy Sané arrives from Manchester City.
One of the big questions marks this season has been the future of the German winger at the Etihad, with hundreds of articles being written in the English and Bavarian press about a potential move to Munich.
Down his end, Coman isn’t ‘surprised or disappointed’, knowing full well his club need to add depth and talent in the role, considering they only have Serge Gnabry and himself on long-term contracts, with Ivan Perišić on loan from Inter for the time being.
It seems there is some confidence in Bavaria regarding a deal being struck with Manchester City for Sané, but, as we all know, football can be a very strange sport, and things can change very quickly.
