Manchester United are keen on signing Real Madrid’s Aurélien Tchouaméni in the summer.

On April 4th, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain that both Manchester United and Liverpool are ‘tempting’ him. The two clubs see him as an ideal fit for their midfield.

He arrived at Real Madrid from AS Monaco for around €80m in June 2022. Two months later, Los Blancos sold Casemiro to Manchester United.

The Brazil international has already announced his decision to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires in June.

The Red Devils will look to replace him after this season and recent claims from the UK reported their desire to sign Tchouaméni.

He’s already cemented his place at Real Madrid and has played 3,633 minutes from 45 matches this season.

His La Liga stats are follows:

  • Appearances: 29
  • Starts: 27
  • Total minutes played: 2,314
  • Minutes per game: 80
  • Interceptions per game: 1.2
  • Tackles per game: 2.1
  • Possession won (final third): 0.3
  • Recoveries per game: 4.4
  • Clearances per game: 1.8
  • Blocked shots per game: 0.4
  • Duels won per game: 5.2

These figures show the France international’s importance to the La Liga side.

Manchester United keen on Real Madrid star

Aurélien Tchouaméni took Casemiro’s place at the Spanish capital club and could take his place at Manchester United next season.

That’s according to Friday’s edition of Sport, who cover the Premier League side’s interest and Real Madrid’s stance.

Both the former AS Monaco man and the 34-year-old have a similar profile, making the former an ideal target for the Red Devils. However, it’s ‘far from easy’ for the English club to snatch him away from Real Madrid.

He has established himself as a key player at the Santiago Bernabéu and been one of their standout players in a disappointing season. Real Madrid won’t make it easy for any club to sign the 26-year-old, who has a €1bn release clause.

Therefore, Manchester United have to ‘shell out a significant sum’ to bring the player to Old Trafford. There’s no mention of Real Madrid’s demand, but Michael Carrick’s side are interested in the Frenchman.

Contract, value and agent info

Aurélien Tchouaméni will have two years left on his Real Madrid contract after this season and Transfermarkt value him at €75m.

French agency ESN represent the midfielder and also manage Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo.
